The study of IPA is valuable to singers for several reasons. English and foreign
diction books and dictionaries use IPA to communicate pronunciations.
Foreign language diction texts use IPA as a common language to communicate
pronunciation rules. Being able to read the IPA allows the student to take
advantage of these beneficial Italian, French and German diction texts.
