St. George and the Dragon

Ars Nova's other children's production this 2011-2012 season will be St. George and the Dragon by Tinsley & Pogue the last week of April.

The story of St. George follows the legend of a shepherd boy and a fierce and fiery dragon.  Written by librettist Kate Pogue, the contemporary work was written for children, but adults will love it, too!   In this wonderful musical the dragon is attacking the kingdom and everyone from the Fishwife to the Mayor is in an uproar.  The King, a pacifist, dispatches a letter to the dragon asking, "if they can work together on this."  But the dragon's reply demands the impossible.........

With a touch of humor and a lovely blend of voices, St. George is a wonderful musical that the entire family will love.
