Ars Nova's winter opera production will be Lehar's "The Merry Widow" in the VBC Playhouse January 27 - 29, 2012 with orchestra. Conducted by Billy Orton, this flirtatious operetta will have you singing along with your favorite tunes.
The Merry Widow takes place in Paris with the rich widow, Hanna, and her countrymen's attempt to keep her money in the principality by finding her the right husband. This beloved operetta continues to enjoy international success since its 1905 premiere in Vienna. Well-known music from the score includes the "Vilja Song", "Da geh' ich zu Maxim" (You'll Find Me At Maxim's"), and the "Merry Widow Waltz". Audiences will enjoy the performance in English!

Disney's Aladdin, Jr. will also be featured in the Playhouse at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28. The price will be $10.
